Accepting these terms
By accessing or using cyberthreatbrief.simplycyber.io (the "Site"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.
What the Site provides
- Free access to the Daily Cyber Threat Brief podcast (live and on replay)
- AI-generated show notes for each episode
- A free CPE attestation tracker (the "CPE Service") for cybersecurity practitioners who want documented attendance records
All of this is free. We don't charge for any of it.
Acceptable use
You may use the Site for personal, professional, or educational purposes. You agree NOT to:
- Submit false attestations on behalf of yourself or anyone else
- Use the Site or CPE Service to commit fraud against an employer, certification body, or other party
- Interfere with the operation of the Site or other users' experience
- Run bots, scrapers, or automated tools against the Site without our written permission (auto-fetching the public RSS feed is fine)
- Attempt to bypass authentication on any admin endpoints
- Republish full episodes, full transcripts, or full show notes on other platforms (see Intellectual Property below)
CPE attestations are self-reported
All CPE attestations on this Site are self-reported. By submitting the attestation form, you confirm that you actually watched the episode you're claiming attendance for. We do not verify your identity beyond your email address. We provide dated proof of your self-reported attendance and nothing more.
It is YOUR responsibility to confirm that the CPE credits from this Site are acceptable to your specific certification body, and to determine which category (e.g., technical content, self-study, etc.) they fall under for that body's purposes.
No warranties
The Site and CPE Service are provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" with no warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not guarantee:
- Continuous, uninterrupted, or error-free operation
- Accuracy or completeness of show notes, transcripts, or CPE records
- That any specific certification body will accept the credits
- Delivery of any specific email
- Permanent availability of any episode page, certificate URL, or feature
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Simply Cyber, its founders, employees, contractors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Site or CPE Service, including but not limited to lost CPE credits, lost time, rejected certification submissions, lost income, loss of data, or any other consequence of the Service being unavailable, inaccurate, or otherwise imperfect.
If you are unhappy with the Site or CPE Service, your sole remedy is to stop using them.
